Your detergent, or the one from our two dispensers:
You can bring your usual detergent — liquid or capsules, which are more practical in a laundrette because they dissolve quickly even at low temperature — or use the two detergent dispensers on site: one offers liquid detergent, the other detergent tablets, a disinfectant product and a fabric softener, in single-cycle doses.
For a large, well-filled machine or heavily soiled laundry, increase the dose slightly compared with a home wash, but without excess: the aim is clean, well-rinsed laundry, not a machine full of foam.
The right dose: the classic mistake to avoid:
Overdosing is trap number one: too much detergent creates too much foam, which rinses badly and leaves the laundry dull, rough or marked with white streaks. Too small a dose, on the other hand, does not clean. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, bearing in mind the real capacity of the machine and the hardness of the water.
As for fabric softener, it remains optional: pleasant on everyday laundry, it is not recommended on towelling (it reduces absorbency), on technical and sports fabrics, or on feather fillings.
Where to pour the products:
Depending on the machine, detergent goes either straight into the drum, on top of the laundry, before closing the door — a safe bet for liquid detergent and capsules — or into the sliding drawer: wash compartment for detergent, the compartment marked with a flower for softener.
One important point: add everything before starting the cycle at the terminal. Once the machine has started, the door locks and nothing more can be added. The instructions displayed in the laundrette set out what to do for each model.
